We all know how important it is to maintain our vehicles in a regular shape. Cars do need regular checkups to run efficiently. One of the most important and frequent maintenance comes in the form of oil change. Oil and filter changes are inevitable in your car’s life-cycle. They have to be done every few months, so that your car remains intact and performs optimally.

The more a car is being run, more the oil gets used. This also results in contamination of the engine, as oil breaks down and degrades with heat. The engine and the oil need to be cleaned periodically for the efficient running. The purest of engine oil will boil down to impurities over a period of time. That is why it is imperative that you get an oil change done regularly.

When to Change Oil?

The ideal timeline for changing engine oil is every 5,000 kilometres or once in 5 months , depending on which comes first. It is also very important to change the oil filters at the same time. Oil filters protect the engine by acting like a strainer and segregating the impurities. But filters do get clogged and dirty and they need to be unclogged. Reusing the same filters is not advisable and that is why it is best to replace them when the oil is being changed.

An oil change will only be effective if the filters are being replaced. Your mechanic from Team Auto Centre can suggest the best time to change the oil and filter. They exactly know the signs and symptoms of the car’s mechanisms when it comes to engine oil and oil change.
