You may have heard stories about how someone went to a mechanic to get their tyres replaced or rotated and they ended up paying hundreds of dollars in ‘extra’ repairs, that they didn’t even think they needed.

Here are some tips from Team Auto Centre to help you avoid any nasty surprises:

Don’t second-guess yourself

It’s important that you trust your mechanic and feel comfortable enough to ask questions if you are unsure or don’t understand something. The team at Team Auto Centre are always happy to explain what they are doing and why as well as answer any questions you may have.

Ask questions

A reputable mechanic will not only understand, but will encourage your questions. An experienced mechanic will know how to answer your questions in laymen’s terms that you can understand.

Paperwork

You are well within your rights to ask Team Auto Centre for a written quote or estimate. Workshops run by timings which are how long each different type of service or repair should take the mechanics to complete. This is particularly important if you are being charged an hourly trade rate. Once the work is completed ask for an itemised bill and read through it to ensure that everything is as it should be and in line with the quote or estimate. If not, ask our workshop staff to go through the bill with you so can make sure it is correct.

Ensure that you give consent

It’s important that you fully understand the work you are having done on your vehicle and the costs you are incurring. You should always work with a workshop that guarantees to get your consent to additional work over the initial agreed to prior to commencement of that work.

Team Auto Centre pride themselves on their customer service and satisfaction. They will never undertake any repairs without explaining the need and seeking your prior consent so there will be no surprises at the end of the day. Contact the team today to make a booking.
